- David and his wife Cindi have two daughters: Elizabeth and Megan
- David and Cindi both graduated from the University of Colorado
- They have lived in the Broomfield/Boulder/Westminster area since 1971
- Coached girls soccer for 15 years with Broomfield Junior Soccer and the Broomfield Blast Soccer Club
- Member and Past President of the Broomfield Rotary Club
- Member of the Broomfield Community Foundation Board of Directors
- Member of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors
- Member of the Colorado Conservatory of Dance Board of Directors
- Winner of the Broomfield Chamber of Commerce Business Person of the Year in 1991
- Past Chairman of the Board and Treasurer of the Broomfield Economic Development Corporation
- Member of the City and County of Broomfield Citizens Housing Task Force
- Active in Community Service as a past board member for Bal Swan Children’s Center, Exempla Good Samaritan Medical Center Foundation, Broomfield Swim and Tennis Club, City of Broomfield Citizen Parks and Recreation and Transportation Committees, Broomfield United Methodist Church.
